In the Name of God Amen The twenty second Day of April in the yeare of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and seventy Eight I ELIZABETH HOUSE of the Parish of Basildon in the County of Berks Widow Being of Sound mind and memory (praised be almighty God) Therefore I do make my last Will and Testament in manner and form following First I recommend my Spirit into the Hands of God who gave it In hope of redemption thro Christ my only Saviour and [ ] of all my Sins And my Body I commit to the Earth in hope of a joyful resurrection thro the merits of Christ my Redeemer And as to my Temporal and wordly Effects in my possession under my power given by the last will and Testament of my Loving Husband WILLIAM HOUSE deceased I give and Bequeath thereof as follows First I give and bequeath to my Daughter MARY GOODMAN the wife of THOMAS GOODMAN of the Parish of Ashamstead the sum of five pounds of Lawful English money I Also give and bequeath unto my other Daughter ANN HANSON the wife of EDWARD HANSON in the parish of Bradfield in the County of Berks aforesaid the like sum of five pounds of English Money to be paid by my Executor within one year from and after the day of my decease without any revocation hereof either in Law Equity or otherwise to defeat debar or [ ] this my will herein confirmed And I do make name nominate ordain constitute and appoint my Son THOMAS HOUSE my full and Sole Executor of this my will and Testament Utterly renouncing and revoking all former wills and Bequests heretofore by me made I do declare this to be my last will and Testament only In Witness whereof I have to this my will contained in one sheet of Paper set my Hand and Seal to the said Sheet the day and year first above written – X – The mark of ELIZABETH HOUSE

THOMAS HOUSE the son and sole Executor in this Will named was sworn to the truth thereof and as usual before me – Henry Brighton Surrogate

This Will was proved at Oxford on the 20th day of April 1779 before the Revd Henry Brighton lawful surrogate of the worshipful Charles Gould Dr of Laws Chancr. Of the Diocese of Sarum and by him Admin of the Effects of the Deced was granted to THOMAS HOUSE lawful son of the sd. Deced. and sole Executor within named (being first sworn to the Trust of the sd. Will to perform the same to make a true and perfect Invry. And render a just acct. when lawfully required
