In the Name of God Amen This is the Will of me SAMUEL HOUSE Cooper first I will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid and satisfied and after payment thereof I give the following Legacies (to wit) To my acquaintance THOMAS [            ] of Littlefield Street in the Parish of St Anns Cooper Five Guineas

To my Cousin ANN LLEWELIN of Wokingham in the County of Berks widow a Ring of one Guinea value

To my surgeon CHARLES WRIGHT a Ring value one Guinea and the like to the wife of the said CHARLES WRIGHT for a Ring  

I give and bequeath to my late Father’s Housekeeper ELIZABETH MEADOWS Ten pounds a year for her Life And I charge my House and Premises in Upper Grosvenor Street only with the payment thereof and in case the same shall fall short of the payment of the said Annuitys my Father [hath] charged the same with then her said Annuity must fall short in proportion And as to all my [plate] the remain Interest in my said Premises in Upper Grosvenor Street and my House with all its Appurtanances in Wardour Street and all other my Estate and Effects which I shall die possessed of not hereinbefore disposed of I give will devise and bequeath the same as also the said Annuitys given to the said ELIZABETH MEADOWS after her death to SARAH HOUSE otherwise MEADOWS the Daughter of the said ELIZABETH MEADOWS to be at her sale disposal at the age of twenty three years as also the Rents Dividends and Profits that may arise and accumulate shall remain continue and be in the hands of my Executor hereinafter named and to be paid to her at the age of twenty three years aforesaid provided always and my Will and Mind is that in case the said SARAH HOUSE otherwise MEADOWS should depart this Life before her said age of twenty three years and her said Mother shall be then living I give and bequeath to her a further Annuity of Ten pounds a year for the remainder of her Life and I charge my Estate and Effects with the payment of it provided always and my Will and Mind further is that after the Death of the said ELIZABETH MEADOWS and also in case of the Death of the said SARAH HOUSE otherwise MEADOWS before her said age of twenty three years then [or] in such case and not otherwise I give and bequeath my said Estate and Effects to my Cousin DANIEL LLEWELIN Son of the said ANN LLEWELIN  

Lastly I give and bequeath to JOHN JENNINGS of Little Pulteney Street Brewer Ten pounds And I appoint the said JOHN JENNINGS whole and sole Executor and Trustee of this my Will for the purposes aforesaid And I do hereby revoke all former Wills Codicils and Bequests by me of any time heretofore made and declare this as and for my last and only Will  

In Witness whereof I have to this my Will contained in two Sheets of Paper set my hand to the first sheet thereof and my hand and seal to the Last sheet thereof this third day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight – SAMUEL HOUSE – signed sealed published and Declared by the said Testator SAMUEL HOUSE as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our Names as Witnesses hereto – JNO. This Will was proved at London on the ninth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight before the Worshipful John [           ] Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipful Peter [Calvort] Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissory of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of JOHN JENNINGS the sole Executor named in the said Will to whom Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased was granted he having been first sworn duly to Administer
